After the ballet class with Catlin, did you think differently about ballet? Talk about any misconceptions you had about males in ballet. What do you think about ballet now?

at first, i thought that ballet was more for girls and that guys would look queer if they did ballet. after catlin's workshop and almost 3 weeks of mr. li's ballet classes, i feel a lot different towards ballet. i think that it is for everyone, and that if you take ballet, then you will improve in practically every style of dance. jazz and modern are mostly based on ballet. the turns and the jumping we did during the jazz unit was like an introduction to the ballet unit. catlin's class was extremely hard, but i don't think it was torture. it was just an introduction to other styles of dance, and so that we could be more successful in ballet. i think that's the purpose of mr. li's classes too. i look forward to doing stuff like this in the future...not really

It was much harder than I expected, and I never want to point My feet again; 2 days later and my legs still hurt!!!! It was a really good class though, despite my pain.

the ballet class with catlin was really great and was very useful but quite hard and challenging at the same time

At first i thought that ballet was only for girls.the class made me relise that a man could make ballet look manly, although befor that i was shure that i would look like a queer. i was happy that i did not look like a queer. the workshop was very hard but at the end of it all I was glad I did it. He said that ballet was the root of all dance, after the ballet class I can see what he meens.

It was nice to have dance taught to us by two people. It really gives you a better perspctive on how to preform the dance. you can take things from both dancers to make yourself better. Catlin pushed us pretty hard I don'r believe it was necisaary to help us preform next class but more so to prove a point to how hard the professionals work. All and all i really enjoyed the first workshop.

THAT HURT. My perception of ballet is different since catlin's class. I did understand that ballet for men required strength and endurance, but I didn't realize that the jumps were so demanding. Afterwards, my calves were on fire. It was really fun, though and it was good that he put so much emphasis on the posture aspect of the ballet.

I've always felt the same about Ballet, to me, it doesn't really matter who it is that's teaching it.

I mean, I don't view ballet as my favourite form of dance, but I really did like the workshop. I noticed that there was a lot more jumping, which was good for my thigh and lower leg muscles.

All in all I really would like to thank Catlin for a fun work-out and workshop.
